A generous, open-air structure anchored by a rhythmic timber frame, this project creates a sheltered ground for play, gathering and pause. A finely detailed glulam post-and-beam system supports a deep, corrugated metal roof, casting long, graphic shadows across the coloured courts below. Steel tension rods and expressed connections add a lightness to the structure, balancing its scale with a sense of precision. Beneath, a durable palette of painted concrete and asphalt surfaces is softened by planting and the surrounding landscape. The result is both robust and quietly refined an everyday civic space shaped through clarity of structure, warmth of material, and the way light moves across it throughout the day.
