Dotdash
Glasshouse Theatre
Recently photographed at Glasshouse Theatre, this project by Dotdash explores the role wayfinding and placemaking can play beyond simply directing people from one place to another. Throughout the theatre, signage, numbering and directional elements have been carefully woven into the existing architecture.
Warm illuminated graphics sit alongside rich timber, textured concrete and the building’s soft golden palette, creating a wayfinding system that feels considered and integrated rather than applied. From the large-scale level numbers and subtle directional signage to the smaller amenity markers, the design creates a clear visual language while contributing to the character and experience of the space.
For me, the photography was about capturing that relationship between graphic design, materiality and architecture, showing not only the individual wayfinding elements, but how they sit within and respond to the broader environment.
