A home designed around family life

This beautiful Brisbane home by Weave Architecture is one of those projects that feels considered without ever feeling overly polished or precious.

Working with owner Elise, the renovation brings together the character of the original Queenslander with a contemporary rear addition designed around light, landscape and everyday family life.

Timber floors, generous openings and banks of louvres create an easy connection between inside and out, while the original rooms, artwork, toys and personal details give the home so much warmth and personality.

Photographing the project, I loved capturing not only the architecture, but the life happening within it children in the garden, afternoon light moving through the rooms, and all those small details that make a house feel distinctly like home.
